Dear future 8th grader,

8th grade comes with a lot of new responsibilities and challenges. One learns and conducts multiple new activities that change one’s mental strength meaning intelligence and one’s character. It is vital in 8th-grade to finish on a strong mark because duo credit classes start the following year. Duo credit classes are college classes you take while still attending high school, if you pass the duo credit, you automatically receive an associates degree. The three assignments in ELAR that I will be giving advice about are the AR(Accelerated Reader) program, Istation, and the Fashion Show. Here are the current guidelines or tips for receiving and passing these simple assignments.

The Accelerated Reader(AR) is a reading program, which one has to read books and take quizzes on them during class to earn points. Based on your reading scores one is assigned a different AR point goal. The key to mastering this system is to binge books during the summer or during any type of break you have and just like money, save up! What I mean by this is have an arsenal or number of books u have read so u don’t have to be stressing about reading and receiving demerits during the school year, and you can focus more on homework or studying.

When it comes down to Istation, we don’t hear a lot of excitement. I know that this program may get on the nerves of many, however, it is a very easy assignment in which one can earn an easy A. Istation is very repetitive and yes I understand it can get very annoying at times, but, that easy homework grade can lift up your whole average up, or in some cases bring it down. When it comes to Istation the concept I use is to eat while doing my Istation it helps to cope with my nerves and stress while doing Istation. Although this might sound silly, it actually helps, you should try it!

The biggest and most promoted event in 8th grade was the fashion show. If you are planning on succeeding in this event u need confidence, creativity, and perseverance. You need the confidence to either read or walk in the outfit and strike the posses. This is not an easy task since there a lot of parents and adults watching you. The reader also needs the confidence to read the description with clarity and steadiness, this is vital for the audience to understand the concept of the dress and its overall features. Finally, your group needs to have a lot of creativity, the design manager must create something appealing and interesting to look at and ur writing must also be very descriptive!

To conclude, in 8th grade, you will face new challenges and task, however, if you stay optimistic and take every challenge you will end the year on a strong mark and inspire many below your grade level.

They were said to be located deep in the rainforest. 145 years ago humanity decided to dispel the world from these daunting creatures, they sent vast armies into the amazonian rainforest. Approximately 3 days later approximately only 1/12 of the army returned, the rest had either been kidnapped or been brutally assassinated by the Treelopse people. One young soldier states that as they were fledging his platoon was ambushed by Treelopse natives.”They slaughtered us like as if putting on a fanfare to impress the king”states the young soldier. Now many of our colleagues prepare themselves for the final push against this powerful enemy.

“Mom, how come we are always sitting in the same place!” whined Bobby.”Ever since the government confiscated our legs, because of your mutiny against the president of the United States of america, we cannot move anymore,” responded Sara, Bobby’s mom.” Now, now son, I need you to stay serene, in order for us to retrieve our legs back,” said Jack, Bobby’s dad. ” Your mom and I have created a very complex and prudent plan in order to retrieve our legs.” Bobby smiled he knew that once he had his legs he would finally embark on his journey round the world.

Logan woke up with a large grunt. His whole body ached from terrible battle he had just lost against black panther. He was now stuck in a large amazonian cave that was filled with terrible creatures. He slowly lifted himself up and looked behind his shoulder, he saw the exit of the cave. He ran with all his might toward the exit however, a tiger was blocking his escape. Logan ran and launched himself at the beast, the tiger pulled out its sharp claws and with a large,”screech” logans and the tigers claws collided with each other, legend against legend. 

John fought fiercely in the battlefield with no thought in his head other than Mary. She had been slaughtered by the Persians and now he fought along side his fellow best friends, to avenge all the innocent lives lost during a Persian raid. With a grimace he quickly flashed his white sword cutting through arms and limbs and hurried through the battle field toward the Persian general. He then spotted the general sitting in his chair enjoying a sandwich, changing his toy’s batteries, and clad in golden attire. John felt energetic and gingerly made his way toward the Persian general.

“Ajax, is my name,” responded the girl to Harry. Harry responded with a warm smile,” i guess you already know my name.” Ajax moved through the street with the confidence of a lion and agility of a cat. She had the remarks of a true princess however there was no throne or so he thought. Suddenly a dark sparkly oval opened next to the bus and a large man with a huge deadly looking axe and armor that he had only seen in movies stepped out of what he guessed was an inter-dimensional portal. Harry felt a little dizzy the only word he could manage was,” wow.” He saw as the man made a hand gesture and 6 other men stepped out from the portal. Ajax quickly ran and gave the man with the huge axe a great hug, the man, smiling gave a ajax a short fast kiss on her forehead and quickly asked,” are you okay? Did anyone hurt you?!” Ajax quickly responded,” Max no no one hurt me! In fact, this young man right here was just introducing himself to me.” At that very moment all of their eyes deviated to Harry, who was bearly processing all of this in his mind.”Well young man, continue, tell us who you are” Harry slowly opened his mouth however he could not form or pronounce any words he was so awestruck that at that very moment he fainted. Ajax slowly made her way to harry and smiled,” Weakling. Max why are you here? you are supposed to be back at Bridgehaven defending our kingdom!” Max looked at her with a curious look and asked,” Didn’t you hear?” Ajax shook her head Max continued,” You are a intergalactic fugitive, your head is wanted by many all over the universe. Why do you think all those natural disasters happened? You think those were all coincidences?” Ajax processed all that information and looked at Harry who now looked at her with wide eyes. She turned and stared at Max, she slowly asked,” Is that why you are here? To take me to prison?” Max gave Ajax a sad smile and whispered,” Yes, i’m sorry my dear but its an order from your father.” At that very moment there was a loud whoosh and a flaming arrow pierced through Max’s head! Ajax stood there shocked blood and gore in her face from Max’s head in her face,  Harry ran toward Ajax however a red laser surrounded Ajax. There was a loud BOOM and suddenly Ajax was gone! Harry stood there shocked and confused. He turned to see all his friends with mouths opened all staring at the sky. Harry turned his gaze toward the area his friends were looking and was dumbfounded. There in the sky a struggling golden and shinning Ajax was fighting a 4 armed and 3 eyed monster. The monster slashed Ajax with its tail, and for a moment Ajax and Harry’s eyes met. Harry saw all the pain and fear that circled Ajax’s face, he desperately wished he could help her. At that moment Ajax eradicated a blinding blue ray and her whole body turned a bright shade of gold. However the monster rolled up into a ball and deflected her blast, it opened one of its hands and smacked Ajax hard in the face. Ajax quickly regained her balance and tried again, this time pulling a black flaming sword that had the words”Blood.God.Glory” inscribed on it. She took a huge swing at the monster! Slashing right through its throat! Immediately, a huge splatter of greenish blackish blood illuminated the dark sky. Ajax gently and carefully steeped back onto the street were Harry and his friends awaited.With a powerful and intimidating voice Ajax said,” I am Ajax daughter of the powerful and mysterious Thanos, and I am looking for faithful warriors that will follow me into a dangerous and bloody battle that will shape the course of the universe itself. Step forward if you will follow me into that horrible and dark battle that is coming upon us!” With all that said Harry confidently stepped forward and behind him 12 other kids followed, ready to fight and give their lives for the Glory of Ajax and planet Earth.

Jeff awoke in a calm centered place. He could see many shadows passing by him many with different faces. He recognized one as his friend jimmy who had died 6 years ago in World War 3. He looked into his deep blue bottomless eyes and saw something he had longed for many years. He saw happiness and nearly broke down in tears he kneeled down and reached for Jimmy. However as soon as he reached Jimmy disappeared and Jeff stood there confused, and alone again. He looked up into the sky, he felt his body go rigid cold and suddenly felt free.

Some might say Harry was an ordinary kid, others might say he was a little bit peculiar, but the reality of it was Harry was wandering but not lost. Harry loved his friends and treated them like family, he treated his family like gods and treated any stranger with respect. However one day it all changed. Harry awoke in his little humble red bedroom with a great attitude he felt as if he could move mountains! He stepped into his old worn Adidas and went downstairs, were his mom was cooking a delicious Monday morning breakfast. He ran past her and gave her a quick kiss as he exited his house. He waited in his usual spot next to the worn down rusty “STOP” sign were the bus always picked him up. With a loud “squeak” the dirty yellow bus halted to a complete stop and harry hoped in. He recognized every face Edward, Lilay, Dalila, Anelie and saluted them with a quick peace sign. However there was a new face in the crowd, a girl with glasses,beautiful brown hair, and cute hazel eyes. He walked quickly and quietly to his place on the bus next to Edward, however every spot was taken. The only available seat was next to the new girl, he slowly  and carefully walked toward her and sat next to her. With a short consice whisper he said,” Hi, my name is harry.” The girl slowly turned her head but ignored and mutter,” Hi my name is..” “BAAM” and suddenly the world shook and slowly faded into darkness. Harry woke up with a sudden startle, Edward and Dalila were right on top of him screaming his name. He slowly lifted his body just to see a deep crater that had surged from the earth. The bus was only inches away from falling into the dark abyss of the large crater, with a huge sigh Harry thought about how lucky they were of being alive. He quickly remembered that he had been talking to the new girl when all this happened, however she was now gone and there was no sight whatsoever of her. Harry and his friends quickly gathered their backpacks, and got off the bus. There, standing eating a hot dog was the new girl, as Harry stepped out she gave him a heart warming smile that made Harry dizzy, he almost tripped. The girl walked up to them and said,” We are going to be late for school if you guys don’t pick up your pace!” All the children looked at her with shocked amused faces, and Edward retorted,” WE NEARLY DIED! and Thats all you can think about?! For all we know the world is probably ending and all you can think about is SCHOOL?!” As soon as Edward said that, a huge alarmed blared through the whole city. Harry immediatly recognized it as the Tsunami alarm and screamed,”Hurry everyone take cover, thats the TSUNAMI alarm!” However it was too late, he could already see the huge wave covering the horizon, and thought,”I didn’t even get the new girls name!” They stayed there paralyzed in fear watching as their own death got closer and closer, Harry turned his head sideway just to see the new girl waving her arms and slowly muttering words. Suddenly the girls eyes shone brighter and turned into a beautiful shade of blue, her hair shone and turned into a shiny shade of gold, and her face could illuminate the whole universe it shone so brightly that he had to cover his eyes or he would end up blind. She emitted a beautiful red ray and blasted it into the wall of water and within a single second it evaporated. Harry stood there awestruck mouth hanging open, he could not believe his eyes he looked at the girl once again however now she had those warm hazel eyes and brown beautiful hair.”Weird” Harry thought to himself,he walked towards the girl and cheerfully said,”Hey, I didn’t catch your name!”

Tomorrow was Bonfire Night, people from all over the world were coming to England to inaugurate and celebrate this special night. Harry, was swimming in the beach when suddenly a massive beast emerged from the ocean.The creature opened its long scarred mouth only to reveal five rows of sharp teeth. Suddenly, there was a blinding white turbulent flash in the sky and incredibly, a flame descended from the sky. Harry turned and saw the flame and though,”Wow, Bonfire Night started way to early!” Then he saw what he considered impossible, Wolverine appeared from the flame, ready to save the day!

As the door slammed, I knew that something was utterly wrong. I turned my head sideways just to see a bald man in a wheelchair with the letter X inscribed on the wheels, making his way towards me. “Hello my name is professor X, do you know why you were brought here?” With a short, concise, brusque answer I responded,”My father is Wolverine and you tried emulating him by creating clones that I deliberately killed with my own 2 hands!” As soon as I said that a wave of darkness and nausea hit me and I hit the cold white floor.
